Выявление особенностей экспрессии галектина-1 и галектина-3 в опухолевой ткани и содержания галектинов 1 и 3 в плазме периферической крови во взаимосвязи со степенью дифференцированности и распространения (инвазии) первичной опухоли, наличием метастазов у больных раком толстого кишечника.</p></sec><sec><title>Материал и методы</title><p>Материал и методы. Обследован 81 пациент с диагнозом рак толстого кишечника. Материалом исследования служили образцы тканей толстого кишечника, полученные при операционном вмешательстве, и цельная периферическая кровь. Методом иммуногистохимии оценивали экспрессию опухолевыми клетками галектина-1 и галектина-3 на гистологических препаратах опухолевой ткани. Концентрацию галектинов 1 и 3 в плазме периферической крови определяли методом твердофазного иммуноферментного анализа. Описание анатомического распространения опухоли у пациентов с раком толстого кишечника проводили в соответствии с международной классификацией стадий злокачественных новообразований по системе TNM (7 Edition AJCC, 2009 г.), установление степени дифференцированности опухолевых клеток осуществляли согласно клиническим рекомендациям по диагностике и лечению опухолей (Ассоциация онкологов России, 2018). Полученные результаты анализировали статистическими методами.</p></sec><sec><title>Результаты</title><p>Результаты. У больных раком толстого кишечника установлено увеличение внутриопухолевой экспрессии галектинов 1 и 3 (в сравнении с таковой у пациентов с аденомой толстого кишечника), и концентрации данных лектинов в периферической крови (относительно параметров у здоровых доноров). Высокое содержание галектина-1 (внутри опухоли и в крови) у больных колоректальным раком сопряжено с выраженной степенью распространения первичной опухоли (Т3, Т4) и наличием метастазов (регионарных и отдаленных). Гиперэкспрессия опухолевыми клетками галектина-3 обнаруживается при раке толстого кишечника с низкой степенью дифференцированности новообразования и присутствием лимфогенных метастазов.</p></sec><sec><title>Заключение</title><p>Заключение. Связь высокой экспрессии галектинов 1 и 3 в опухолевой ткани и их плазменной концентрации с низкой дифференцированностью, высоким инвазивным и метастатическим потенциалом опухоли свидетельствует об участии лектинов в механизмах прогрессии рака толстого кишечника, и обосновывает возможность их использования в качестве предиктора неблагоприятного прогноза заболевания.</p></sec></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><sec><title>Aim</title><p>Aim. To study the expression of galectin-1 and galectin-3 in colon cancer and the levels of these proteins in the peripheral blood in relation to the differentiation, invasion, and metastatic dissemination.</p></sec><sec><title>Materials and Methods</title><p>Materials and Methods. We examined primary tumors and the corresponding peripheral blood samples from 81 patients with colon cancer. Control group consisted of 49 patients with colon adenoma and 17 healthy volunteers. Expression of galectin-1 and galectin-3 in colon tissue was determined by immunohistochemical staining, while their plasma level was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Tumor staging was performed in accordance with the TNM system (AJCC, 2009). Cell differentiation was defined according to the respective clinical guidelines (Russian Cancer Association, 2018).</p></sec><sec><title>Results</title><p>Results. We detected an elevated expression of galectin-1 and galectin-3 in primary colon cancer as compared with colon adenoma and higher plasma levels of these proteins in colon cancer patients in comparison with healthy volunteers. High expression of tumor and plasma galectin-1 was associated with higher tumor stage (T3/T4) and the presence of local and distant metastases. Overexpression of galectin-3 in the primary tumor correlated with lower differentiation and lymph node metastasis.</p></sec><sec><title>Conclusion</title><p>Conclusion.
