...were developed on the basis of the current legislation of the Russian Federation, recommendations of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, ICMJE's Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals, updated January 2025, Enhancing the Quality and Transparency of Health Research (EQUATOR) Network, Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Code of Conduct guidelines, Requirements for peer-reviewed medical journals, elaborated by the Elsevier Publishing House (in accordance with international ethical rules of scientific publications), Guide for Research Ethics Committee Members Steering Committee on Bioethics (CDBI) of the Council of Europe, WMA Declaration of Helsinki — Ethical Principles for Medical Research Involving Human Subjects, Concensus Author Guidelines for Animal Use (IAVES 23 July 2010), CSE’s White Paper on Promotion Integrity in Scientific Journal Publications, 2012 Update Recommendations of the Association of Scientific Editors and Publishers (ASEP).
The aim of the journal "Fundamental and Clinical Medicine" is to provide an open free platform for exchanging advanced results of fundamental and clinical research on common human diseases, reproductive health problems, epidemiological, environmental and hygienic aspects of prevention.
Main objectives:
- Publication of research results of domestic and foreign scientists in the field of etiology, mechanisms of disease development, typical pathological processes and body reactions to pathogenic factors, clinical practice, new medical prevention technologies that meet modern standards of evidence-based medicine.
- Facilitating communication between specialists in the field of experimental research, clinical medicine and prevention;
- Ensuring transparency, compliance with international standards of publication ethics for all participants and at all stages of the publication process;
- Translation of advanced approaches and research results into healthcare practice.
The journal "Fundamental and Clinical Medicine" provides a synthesis of advanced epidemiological, environmental, fundamental and clinical research, allowing for a comprehensive consideration of the impact of pathogenic factors on human health, current and future trends in the development of medicine.
Our journal is focused on an interdisciplinary approach and is intended for a wide range of researchers, clinicians and specialists in the field of prevention.
The journal "Fundamental and Clinical Medicine" accepts the following manuscripts for publication:
- Original research - manuscripts that contain descriptions of original data that make a priority contribution to the accumulation of scientific knowledge. The manuscript should be structured by sections: introduction, purpose of the study, materials and methods, results, discussion, conclusion. The article size is up to 5000 words (including sources of literature, figure captions and tables), up to 25-30 sources of literature. The abstract of at least 250 and no more than 300 words should be structured and contain 5 paragraphs: purpose, materials and methods, results, conclusion, keywords.
- Clinical cases - a short, informational message presenting a complex diagnostic problem and an explanation of how to solve it, or a description of a rare clinical case. The text size is up to 3000 words (including sources of literature, figure captions and tables), no more than 10-20 sources of literature, with an unstructured abstract that should not exceed 250 words.
- Review articles - a critical summary of the research topic. Volume - up to 5000 words (including references, figure captions and tables), up to 60 references, with an unstructured abstract for a descriptive review and a structured abstract for a systematic review and meta-analysis of at least 250 and no more than 300 words.
- Discussions - a discussion of a specific article published in the journal "Fundamental and Clinical Medicine". Volume no more than 3000 words, without an abstract.
- Lectures - a presentation of modern views on a particular problem. Volume no more than 5000 words, without an abstract. Announcement - an information message about scientific and practical conferences, congresses, research grants. Volume up to 600 words, without an abstract.
The journal accepts manuscripts from postgraduate students, applicants, doctoral students, specialists and experts in this field.
RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE AUTHOR BEFORE SUBMITTING A MANUSCRIPT
Submission of a manuscript to the journal "Fundamental and Clinical Medicine" implies that:
- the manuscript has not been previously published in another journal;
- the manuscript is not under consideration in another journal;
- all co-authors agree to the publication of the current version of the manuscript.
Before sending an article for consideration, make sure that the file(s) contain all the necessary information in Russian and English, the sources of information placed in figures and tables are indicated, all citations are formatted correctly.
The Editors of the Journal "Fundamental and Clinical Medicine" recommend that authors use the following checklists and schemes developed by international organizations in the field of health (EQUATOR, Enhancing the Quality and Transparency of Health Research). when preparing original articles and other materials.

Checking a manuscript for plagiarism
All manuscripts submitted to the editorial board of the journal "Fundamental and Clinical Medicine" undergo mandatory checking in anti-plagiarism systems (manuscripts submitted in Russian are checked in the Antiplagiat system https://www.antiplagiat.ru; manuscripts submitted in English are checked in the iThenticate system). We recommend the authors use the TEXT.RU https://text.ru/antiplagiat.. All that is posted on the open Internet falls into the field of view of this website. To avoid time wasting before manuscript submission to the journal it should be independently checked for plagiarism. T. The TEXT.RU website provides this service free of charge. In case of detection of numerous self-citations, self-borrowings and incorrect borrowings, the editorial board acts in accordance with the rules of the Committee on the Ethics of Scientific Publications (COPE) (COPE) https://publicationethics.org.

Authorship
The ICMJE recommends that authorship be based on the following 4 criteria:
- Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work; AND
● Drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectualcontent; AND
● Final approval of the version to be published; AND
● Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuringthat questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the
work are appropriately investigated and resolved.
All of these conditions must be met.
Each author should be able to identify which co-authors are responsible for other specific parts of the work. In addition, authors should have confidence in the integrity of the contributions of their co-authors. All authors included in a paper must fulfil the criteria of authorship. Conversely, we also ask for assurance that there is no one else fulfilling the criteria who has been excluded as an author. Persons who do not meet all four criteria should be mentioned in the Acknowledgment section.
When authors submit any type of manuscript, they are required to disclose any financial and personal relationships that have influenced or could affect their work.
Each author must be familiar with and agree in advance with the list and order of the authorship of the manuscript before sending it to the journal. The authors and co-authors of the submitted manuscript should sign Cover Letter . All authors of the manuscript should indicate their contribution to the work on the manuscript and the presence or absence of a conflict of interest.
In case the authors want to make changes to the list of authors after it has been sent to the editor, according to the direction on ethics of scientific publications (COPE) It is necessary to provide the editor with a written justification for making changes to the author's team, with a detailed statement of the contribution of the added and/or deleted authors to the work on the manuscript, which must be signed by ALL the authors of this manuscript. If there are disagreements between the authors, consideration of the manuscript stops before an agreed decision within the group of authors. In cases where an article has already been published any requests for change of authorship approved by the editors lead to the publication of corrections. The editors reserve the right to demand additional documents confirming the legality of the changes in authorship.
The author, is responsible for communication with the editors
The correspondent author is the person responsible for communicating with the editors of the journal during the submission of the manuscript, peer review, and publication process. It is they who ensures the fulfilment of all technical requirements of the journal, such as providing detailed information about the authors, documents of approval from the ethics committee, documentation on the registration of clinical trials, the collection of forms and statements of conflict of interest. The correspondent author should be available throughout the process of submitting and reviewing the manuscript in order to respond to editorial requests on time. It should also be available after publication to respond to criticisms, requests from the editorial staff to provide additional data or other information if questions arise after publication.
Please note that in the electronic edition, the author who uploads the manuscript on the site from his personal account is considered as the author responsible for correspondence with the editors of the journal.

The cover letter must be signed by all authors, scanned and attached when sending the article (when uploaded to the system, it is assigned the name "Cover letter").
5) Ethics statements. (The conclusion of the local ethics committee regarding the study (if required).
6) Figures, if any, are provided as a separate file. Graphs in Microsoft Excel with digital data. Photographs, figures - in TIF, JPG format with a resolution of 300 dpi, vector images - in EPS, EMF, CDR (when uploaded to the system, each figure is assigned the name "Figure_Figure serial number. Figure title").
7) Information on overlapping publications (if any). If there are overlapping publications, their number and titles should be indicated (it is advisable to attach scans of previously published articles). Also, in the cover letter addressed to the editor-in-chief of the journal, you should briefly indicate the reason for the overlapping publications (for example, a large multiphase study, etc.).
8). Copyright. The use of any material (table, figure) in an article marked with a copyright symbol must be confirmed by special permission from the author or publisher.
Electronic manuscript submission
1. Any of the authors may submit an article to the journal, as a rule, this is the author responsible for correspondence. The author must register on the website, indicate their full last name, first name, and patronymic. When submitting an article, all authors and all additional information (places of work, positions, academic titles, institutions - for all authors) must be indicated in the template.
2. The manuscript should be sent electronically to the Editors via the website. The manuscript must be formatted in accordance with these requirements for scientific articles submitted for publication in the journal.
3. The author is sent a notification letter about the receipt of the manuscript with a number (ID), which will be used in subsequent correspondence. The author can track the stages of work on their manuscript via the website.
4. The manuscript must undergo an initial selection, which includes checking the completeness of the manuscript and checking in the Antiplagiat system. If the requirements of the Rules for Authors regarding the completeness of the manuscript or its design are not met, the Editorial Board has the right to refuse publication or request in writing to send missing materials or correct the version already uploaded to the site. The originality of the manuscript must be at least 75%. We expect that manuscripts sent for publication are written in an original style that involves a new understanding without using previously published text. Manuscripts with an originality of less than 75% will not be accepted for consideration.
5. The Editorial Board has the right to refuse publication or send their comments on the article, which must be corrected by the Author before reviewing.
General format
Prepare the manuscript text using a Word processing package (save in .doc or .docx format). Submission of PDF files is not permitted. The recommended font is Times New Roman. Font size in the text must be 14, yet a smaller font (12) can be used for the tables. The recommended line spacing is 1.0. Pages should be of uniform size (A4, 21 x 30 cm) with 2.5 cm margin all around and must be consecutively numbered. Original Research, Review Articles, and Lectures should contain a maximum of 5000 words while Case Reports and Discussions should be of 3000 words maximum including tables, figure legends, and references.
Title Page. The title page should contain 1) the title; 2) first name, middle initial, and last name of each author; (3) the institution(s) where the work was performed, (4) the position, institution, and location of all authors, (5) the telephone number, fax number, and e-mail address of the corresponding author, (6) the institutional affiliations of the authors (including corporate appointments) should be acknowledged in a footnote.
Abstract. All abstracts must be of 300 words maximum. Structured abstracts are required for Original Research articles. The abstract should contain the following headings: (1) Aim, (2) Materials and Methods, (3) Results, (4) Conclusion. In contrast, in Review Articles, Lectures, Case Reports, and Discussions a non-structured abstract should be preferred. The authors should also provide a maximum of 10 keywords for indexing purposes.
Funding. Details of all funding sources for the work in question should be given in a separate section entitled “Funding”. This should appear before the “Conflict of Interest” section.
The following rules should be followed:
a) The sentence should begin: ‘This work was supported by …’
b) The full official funding agency name should be given, i.e. ‘the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health’ or simply 'National Institutes of Health' not ‘NCI' (one of the 27 sub-institutions) or 'NCI at NIH’ (full RIN-approved list of UK funding agencies)
c) Grant numbers should be complete and accurate and provided in brackets as follows: ‘[grant number ABX CDXXXXXX]’
d) Multiple grant numbers should be separated by a comma as follows: ‘[grant numbers ABX CDXXXXXX, EFX GHXXXXXX]’
e) Agencies should be separated by a semi-colon (plus ‘and’ before the last funding agency)
f) Where individuals must be specified for certain sources of funding, the following text should be added after the relevant agency or grant number 'to [author initials]'.
An example is given here: ‘This work was supported by the National Institutes of Health [P50 CA098252 and CA118790 to R.B.S.R.] and the Alcohol & Education Research Council [HFY GR667789].
g) If the paper had no funding, it must be explicitly stated as “None declared”.
Conflict of Interest. After the “Funding” section, the authors must clearly state all possible conflicts of interest in the manuscript, including financial, consultant, institutional, and other relationships that might lead to bias or a conflict of interest. If there is no conflict of interest, this should also be explicitly stated in Conflict of Interest section as “None declared”.
Acknowledgements. Contributions of individuals who did not fulfill criteria for authorship should be noted in an Acknowledgements section and entered after the Conflict of Interest statement.
Abbreviations
Abbreviations should be minimized and avoided wherever possible. The full term for which an abbreviation stands should be used at its first occurrence in the text unless it is a standard unit of measure. The abbreviation should appear in parentheses after the full term.
Tables
Tables are included in the manuscript text. Tables should not duplicate the text. Data given in tables must conform to those in the text. Each table should be numbered in sequence using Arabic numerals (e.g. Table 1.). Tables should also have a title above and an explanatory footnote below.
Figures
Figures must not duplicate data given in Tables or in the text. They must be suitable for high quality reproduction and should be submitted in the desired final printed size so that reduction can be avoided. Figures are included in the manuscript text and should be numbered in sequence using Arabic numerals (e.g. Figure 1.). Figures should also have a title and a legend below. Figure legends should contain enough information for the reader to understand the figure without referring to the text.
Units of Measure
Authors should provide units of measurement in SI units.
References
References should be identified in the text by Arabic numerals and numbered in the order cited. All references should be compiled at the end of the article in the recommended style for references based on the National Information Standards Organization NISO Z39.29-2005 (R2010) Bibliographic References as adapted by the National Library of Medicine for its databases. (https://www.nlm.nih.gov/bsd/uniform_requirements.html). Details, including fuller citations and explanations, are in Citing Medicine (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK7256/).
Complete information should be given for each reference, including the title of the article, abbreviated journal title, and page numbers. If the author group consists of 6 authors or fewer, all author names should be listed; if there are more than 6 authors, the first 6 author names are listed followed by et al. The indication of Digital Object Identifier (DOI) in the references is highly encouraged.

Submission Preparation Checklist
As a part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions not adhering to these guidelines may be returned to authors for the editing.

6. The manuscript has been read and approved by all named authors. There are no other persons who satisfied the criteria for authorship but are not listed. The order of authors listed in the manuscript has been approved by all authors.
7. Information about the authors and their affiliations are relevant. The corresponding author provided his or her phone number and e-mail.
8. The manuscripts adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
9. All supplementary documents have been prepared and upload.

Text should be typed with an interval of one and a half line spacing, font Times New Roman, 14 pt; to highlight the accents it is recommended to use italics rather than underlining (except Internet links). All images, graphics and tables are placed within the text according to the meaning of the particular part of text (and not at the end of the document).
Text should follow the stylistic and bibliography requirements as stated in Regulations located in the Part "About Us."
Please, remove the authors' names from the title of the article and other parts of the document to ensure the anonymity of reviewing.
